What is covered

Every tournament is a calendar of its own, so you only get the ones you follow. Subscribe to one or to all of them.

Grand Slams

Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open, with the men's and the women's singles.

ATP Masters 1000

Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo, Madrid, Rome, Canada, Cincinnati, Shanghai and Paris. The calendars for Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, Rome, Canada and Cincinnati also carry the women's singles, which are WTA 1000 events.

WTA 1000

Doha, Beijing and Wuhan have calendars of their own; the Beijing calendar also carries the men's singles. Together with the six combined events, that covers most WTA 1000 tournaments.

ATP Finals and WTA Finals

The season finales of the best eight, each in its own calendar, from the round robin to the final.

How it works

  1. Install Calendar72

Get the free app from the App Store on your iPhone.

  2. Pick your tournaments

Choose tennis, then the Grand Slams, the ATP Masters 1000 and Finals, or the WTA 1000 and Finals, and pick the tournaments you want.

  3. Add them to your calendar

Tap to add one. Apple Calendar asks you to confirm with Subscribe, and you are done. For Google Calendar the app walks you through one short step in the browser; for Outlook you add the calendar once in Outlook on a computer. With Google and Outlook it then shows up on every device signed in to that account.

How the matches appear

A tennis draw fills up as the tournament goes on, and the calendar grows with it. Calendar72 updates the tennis calendars twice a day, around midnight and early in the morning German time. A match is added at the first update after both players are known and it is on the order of play: first-round matches often a day or more ahead, later rounds usually the night before. A match scheduled at very short notice can arrive later, and one that is already over by the next update is not added. The title shows the two players; the event names the tournament, the draw and the round, plus the court and the city.

Usually only the first match on each court, and the first of a night session, has a fixed start time. The matches after it begin when the court is free, so a match can start later than the time in your calendar.

Qualifying, doubles and mixed doubles are not included.

Time not confirmed yet? Look for the *

A match that has a planned day but no confirmed time yet carries a * in front of the title and a short note in the event. Once the time is confirmed, the * disappears and the entry moves to the confirmed day and time.

Always up to date, in your time zone

Calendar72 checks every running tournament twice a day and adds the new matches. Your calendar app fetches them on its own: Apple Calendar usually within a few hours, Google Calendar and Outlook can take up to a day. Because later rounds are usually added only the night before, Apple Calendar is the better choice for following a tournament live: with Google Calendar and Outlook, a match can show up late.

Melbourne, Shanghai or New York: every match appears in your local time, and when you travel, the times shift with you.

What it costs

Nothing. Calendar72 is free to download, and every calendar in it is free to subscribe to.

Questions about the tennis calendars

Why is a later round not in my calendar yet?
A match only appears once both players are known and it is on the order of play, and the calendars are updated twice a day. So second-round matches usually arrive the night before, and the final once both semifinals are over.
Can I follow just one player?
No. Each calendar covers one tournament and carries the singles matches of its main draw. There are no calendars for single players. If you would like one, use "Request a calendar" in the app.
Are doubles or qualifying included?
No. The calendars carry the main-draw singles only: men's and women's wherever both are played at that tournament.
Is there one calendar with all tournaments?
No. Every tournament is its own calendar, so you can pick exactly the ones you follow, from a single Grand Slam to all of them.
Do I need to subscribe again next year?
No. Once a tournament is over, its calendar moves on to the next edition by itself.
Does it work with Google Calendar or Outlook, not just Apple Calendar?
Yes. Apple Calendar is one tap. For Google Calendar the app guides you through one short step in the browser, and for Outlook you add the calendar once in Outlook on a computer. From then on it updates on its own, on every device signed in to that account.
Is there an Android app?
There is no Android app yet. Calendar72 is an iPhone app, and choosing and subscribing happens in the app. If you add a calendar to Google Calendar or Outlook, it appears wherever that account is signed in.
